My Vegas 16 and Vegas 17 experience.

Hey, I made a quick video about an issue I have had for the past year with Vegas 16 and how it's suddenly fixed with the new 17 version. I'm going to move on to 17, but I'm curious if anyone knows what the heck was going on in 16 that made me spend $499 for nothing.

The same 4K video from my GoPro Hero 7 was used as a test on both 16 and 17 with no effects added. I've checked settings and everything seems identical.

My laptop specs are Core i7 Processor at 3.99GHz ,16GB of RAM, with a nVidia MX150 graphics card.

My work desktop specs are Core i7 Processor at 4.6GHz, 16GB of RAM, with a nVidia Geforce GTX 1080 graphics card.

The results are the same on both computers.

HEVC is a very difficult format to decode with the CPU, and Vegas struggled with it in some cases. In Vegas 17, they added hardware decoding support, so you GPU takes the load off and things run nice and smooth.

Update: I purchased an Alienware Aurora R9 with a Core i9 9900K, 32GB RAM and a Geforce RTX 2080 TI.

Just create proxy fileS for difficult file types.
