I think it had something to do with the not-so nice and very base language used by in quite a few of the posts to the thread. Overall... I'm glad those have been deleted... although I liked your link to the book!

Someone must have gone to far in their post and caused the forum gods to take notice.

So obviously the moderators CAN remove stuff, so why is the Z man still here :)
(he has been awfully quiet lately though)

yeah he's been a little stealthy lately.
i'm sure he's working on his gripe list too!

I am very glad to see a little "selective trimming" applied to some of the posts.

I enjoy helping people (the "regulars" here seem to be similarly motivated), but the coarseness exhibited by a few sure takes the fun out of it in a hurry. Thanks, Sony.

A BIG thank you from up here in Oregon.

I've always enjoyed the humor and friendliness here on this Board, even when I ask really dumb questions. A few months back I wandered over to the Audio Board, and got my head chopped off. Haven't been back since.

Hopefully that won't happen here.

You know what might be a better idea then deleting the threads? Locking them. Gamespy has that feature on their forums (www.forumplanet.com). The mods can "lock" threads. Everyone can read but noone can post. On some boards they do that with everyone who doesn't say something they like though. :(

But, since the board is custom coded by them it would probley too big a deal.

In this case... some (one in particular) of the posts were <truly> objectionable and I am very glad they are gone.

Yea I got banished from the Creative Cow for saying the Spot's leaving was a great loss for the Cow. The next day, my userid no longer worked. Apparently everyone on that thread that supported Spot was kicked. So some forums go a bit too far.

I this case I'm glad Sony stepped in a deleted some of the threads. They were just getting way out of line. For a while I thought I was back on the Pinnacle boards.

I got kicked from the cow because of this also...

Dear Sony

If you're going to delete threads because of content (and I do understand and agree that things can get a little tense around here) - you might also consider deleting any idiot who asks for illegal copies of software aka YOSHIZULEMA - free speech is one thing... outright theft is another matter entirely

Thank you

That's mighty interesting,
anyone care to elaborate?
TheHappyFriar wrote on 4/23/2004, 7:46 PM
Yeah, I thought a forum that a company (ie Sony) promots wouldn't be so childish.
Tell us your story. We like to listen. :)

This forum has a unique feature, the "Ignore This User" switch, that puts censorship in the hands of we users -- right where it belongs.

Using this terrific feature is like voting: If we don't do it, then we deserve what we get!

Right! Kinda like the monkeys you never hear about anymore . . .

Personally, I couldn't get used to wearing "blinders", but then, I'm not a horse.
