MyDVD 4.5 question

First of all, I am referring to the software that came with MF3.0. Is there a way to rearrange
clips after they are once brought into MyDVD? I have added a movie that I want to put in a
different spot in the finished program, but it appears that I must bring them into MyDVD in the
desired order and there doesn't seem to be anyway to reorder them.
Am I missing something here or is that one of the limitations?
Will the Ulead package do that?

Go to www.mediachance.com/dvdlab and download the demo of DVD-Lab. Use that instead. A bit of a learning curve, but the demo is fully functional and lasts for 30 days.

Thank you. I will try that. The Ulead product was tried on this machine some time ago and the trial will not run now. The web site says "tough". So I will
not consider the Ulead product.Maybe I should just upgrade the MyDVD.
The "freebie" MyDVD program is much faster than Pinnacle S8.

Caution! As you have already discovered, MyDVD is very limited and doesn't get much better with an upgrade.
DVDLab is better, but has a steep learning curve.
I've never used ULead, but hear it is pretty good.
Studio 8 (Pinnacle) would be great if they could ever deliver a version that works.
You might try DVD XMaker (formerly DVD Complete) from 321 Studios. I've used this app several times before and, while not as fully functional as some higher-end apps, it is quite adequate for the types of things we typically do.

In my search for the right (cheap) dvd burning software, I have reached this conclusion similar to what others have suggested. I build the avi segments in MF3, the slideshows in Studio 8, and then put them together in MyDVD. My DVD works fine as long as you remember to bring the avi segments into the project in the order that you want them to appear. I have also discovered (stumbled into) a free upgrade to MyDVD version 5. If you are a registered owner of a Sony DRU500 burner, you can get the upgrade from them. You must have the original MyDVD 4.0.1 installed on your computer. I had a problem getting it to run, but the fix was on the Sonic support site. While it still lacks features, it does what I need.

I'm using DVD Lab. I didn't find it to be too hard to get the hang of. If you want to add music to your menu you will need to dowload the free Be Sweet software to convert to the proper format. The versatility of the program is amazing. I've never tried DVD XMaker, however, I thought DVD Complete was bought out by Pinnacle.

You can also render the music in VF / MS. BeSweet's quicker, but VF's easier. If you're going to make an introductory movie or some extra transitions in VF you can do them both at the same time.
