Go to Sony Support and open a problem with them. I, and others, have had issues with burners before. In my case they were able to develop a set of three *.dll files that I inserted into DVDA3 and V6 which then fully utilized my NEC 3250A burner. It might take a little time, but you will get there.

Meanwhile, do a Search, you'll see you're not alone. Several posts also describe work-arounds via Nero that will see you through the process with Sony.
