New AMD 64 dual-core 4800 with XP Pro, Vegas 6b, DVDA 3. V6 doesn't see the CD-ROM, and DVDA doesn't see the DVD-RW. Nero 6 however, works the drive nicely (and is currently my workaround).

No response yet from Sony Support. Some other posts have suggested a workaround by waiting until DVDA requests media, but I can't get it to see the drive at all.

Any thoughts. If I just pick up a new internal combo drive (cd/dvd dual layer), any recommendations?
