need a beginners introductory

i thought all software programs came with at least some introductory 'how to' video of some type. Wether in was in the software or on-line somewhere. how do i get a quick 'know how' on vegas 5?
i have no idea how to make fade in and fade outs and... well... help?

I'd suggest going to the download section of this site, there is a VV5 manual you can download there. It's got lots of good info.

Go to this link and download the Vegas Video 3 manual and tutorial files. This is the last Vegas manual that contains a tutorial chapter. Manuals for 4 and 5 do not. Strange. Although the material is for version 3, this material should be applicable to version 5, and at least it's enough to get you started. There's also a "quick start" guide there to.

"Fading and Crossfading Events" in the help file also may help
