Need a Bigger HD?

I'm afraid this is the answer for such a novice as I. My 35 minute clips takes up 7.39 gigs and I'm trying to render in the NTSC DV Template to return the movie to my DV Camcorder. The render fails because I only have a total of 12 gigs free. Is there anything I can do other than choose a compressed format? I would love for the render to overwrite the initial clip, but haven't found a way for that to happen.

You probably won't want to compress your drive. This may cause problems when playing to tape, because it would need to decompress on the fly.

One thing you can do is split the project into smaller pieces, try to find a place where you can cut with minimal distraction (like a fade to black). Lay this out to tape, render another small part, repeat and lay this to tape (picking up on the tape where you left off and deleting the previous render). If you have a fade to black, this will not be noticable.

Another option of course, is to consider a larger drive. If you do much video, you will soon start being more and more frustrated for lack of disk space.

Getting a big hard drive is satisfying the same way eating a good meal is.
