I am in the middle of creating an entirely 3d CG video for my band and am getting to the point where I need to do some final renders for editing in Vegas.
My dilemna is that I am really unsure as to which resolution/Pixel aspect ratio to render to for PAL Widescreen. Once finished I will be sending a quicktime(animation codec) of the final video to the transfer place to get it put onto DigiBeta for broadcast (I hope!).
I know that the options are : 1024X576 (square pixels), 720X576 (1.42 PAR) and 720X405(square pixels) . I want the best quality that can be fit onto a DigiBeta tape, which I know is only 720X576, so is there any point in the full 1024X576 res? Would there be much difference between the 720X576 (Anamorphic 1.42) and the 720X405 in end quality?
Also, if I go for the 720X576 Anamorphic and put this onto a quicktime for delivery, will I have to specify that it is meant to be 16:9 Anamorphic....I am just really clueless about the DigiBeta format. Does this format tag a video that is meant to be widescreen?
Any advice would be much appreciated!
Cheers...
