Need Burning Help!

I know this is not the DVD architect forum, however, they do not respond there, and I was hoping maybe you guys could help. I recently just purchased a new Sony external DVD burner. When I went to burn my production on DVD Architect 2 it only allowed me to use my older dvd burner in the Device Drop-down list. Why will it not allow me to use my external drive?

Thanks

What version of DVDA are you using?

Is the new external DVD burner the same as your older burner?

Can you burn to this drive using any other software?

just burn to the burner using another app like nero, DVDA doesnt update for new burners, which is really no big deal ..

DVDA doesnt update for new burners

But it does usually support more burners each time you upgrade.

DVDA3 definitely has better support than DVDA2 and DVDA1

However, I am using the DVD Architect to make my menus. So, using Nero would not allow me to use the same menu.

Just prepare the project in DVDA, then burn it in Nero or whatever.

How is this done using Nero?

Once you've prepared a DVD with DVD Architect, you can burn it with other software, such as Nero or Roxio, simply by directing those programs to the folder where your prepared DVD was written. Burn the video_ts and audio_ts directories to the root of the DVD and you're all set.

Im a real beginner sorry, and I have Nero Smart Start. COuld you give me some guidelines for actually burning it, like what program within Nero to use. Thanks
