Need Help - Audio but no Video

I am a new Vegas user and have been sucessfully editing DV from my CamCorder. My son has been watching and is very excited about learning how to edit also. He and a friend captured alot of 320x240 15fps video on his friends digital camara - but when we try to bring one of the AVIs into vegas it says it doesn't recognize the stream. It plays the audio - but there is no video. I can play the clips in RealPlayer or Media player.

Can anyone tell me why Vegas can't see the video? Am I missing a codec that RP and MP can see?

Yes, you are missing the codec for Vegas. Search this forum for "no video" or "can't see video" or something similar. There have been several, several posts on this and it has been very frequently posted on.

Basically though, you need to find out what codec it is and there is freeware out there that will allow you to drop a video file on its icon and it will tell you the codec you need to download. As a matter of fact, if you click on my name above in blue, you should see a post that I replied to that is very similar to yours a while back (this month I think) and the person who started the thread names one that he downloaded, but a quick serach on google will get you what you need.
