Need help to restore previous actions

Hello, well I have one problem & I'll try to explain shortest way possible. Is there any way to undo actions after closing vegas ? I made one mistake that ruined 8 hours of annoying work that consisted in splitting many clips & choosing important parts. My actions were:

- I ended splitting clips I needed

- Then I used script called "Delete Empty Space Between Events"

- Saved project

- Closed vegas

- Next day I opened project & I noticed that the sript I used didn't only delete empty space between clips but also for some stupid reason disorganized important video events that I was selecting & splitting the whole time.

After it I didn't do any actions, the only thing I want is to undo that script action but after closing vegas this option is simply disabled. Are there any ways to resolve this problem ? Maybe any script or program. I saved this project various times before the script, so maybe there is program that allows to load any checkpoint from those various times ?

vegas save a backup of the project before the "last save".

should be a file named "myprojectxx.veg.bak" in the same folder as your project. rename it to remove the .bak at the end and change the name to avoid conflict, and open it.

I tried this thing with renaming, but autosave loads after the script 😭😭

so... i think there is no other way. its saved, its saved.

i don't think vegas create a temporary file for the project creation, or would be possible to restore a previous version with a "deleted file recovery" programs.

so, i think you are out of luck :(

You can't undo actions if you closed Vegas, sorry. Also, Vegas does not make incremental backups... You need Vegasaur or Excalibur extensions for that.

And those extentions can resolve my problem ?

They can prevent such problems in the future...

The free Timeline Tools extension for Sony Vegas Pro v13 and earlier has an incremental save feature that creates multiple backup copies of your project .veg file in the same directory as your project .veg file.    This gives you a series of .veg files that can be opened and examined to let you review the state of your project throughout it's development life cycle.

Please note that AutoSave and Project Inspector are free but are installed when installing Excalibur. They do not have separate installers.
