You could right -click the event and select properties; then turn "looping" off.

Wouldn't recommend that though. Time to study the manual / tutorials to learn a little about how to edit In Vegas.

You are probably trying to yank the event around by an edit (end) point. Just grab it in the middle instead. (Make sure you are in normal edit mode.)

Editing in Vegas is not the same as other editors - it's WAAAYYYYY better :)
