I am using a Canon XH-A1 hdv camera. I have read about the problems with V8 and capturing from this cam, and the intermediate fix is to use a third party capture utility. That works and I can capture fine. My problem now comes in with rendering. If I use the avi or mpeg format, with hdv 1080i 24p templates, my output contains many bright spots on the video, roughly following areas of differing contrast. If I render uncompressed, or yuv, the video looks great but runs VERY slowly, the audio continues at normal speed.
--edit-- I just looked at this problem some more, the uncompressed and yuv compression which ran slowly on playback, work fine in the preview window of v8, so it was probably my player that could not keep up. Of course, file size is WAY different, about 3G v 300 M.
Any help would be SO appreciated!
