Need help with title and graphic animation

I'm looking for a tutorial or some kind of assistance on how to do a graphic animation I've seen in other videos. The animation essentially takes a solid rectangle and...pinches the top and bottom of the rectangle until it's a line. The line becomes a text separator, with text revealing itself both above and below the line. I don't even know what this effect is called, so I'm not even able to adequately search for it on this forum or elsewhere. See the :17 second mark in this video for an example. Thank you in advance for your help!

What you want to do is pretty complicated to describe. How proficient are you at keyframing animations and using masks?

Thank you Steve for your response. I'd say I'm novice maybe, though I'm a quick study. For what it's worth, I did find out to reshape the rectangle the way I want using the Track Motion feature. But for some reason I can't get it to animate the same way I know how with event pan/crop.

Unfortunately, this forum doesn't allow to upload an VMS project file. Your animation is quite easily to achieve in VMS with the pan/crop tool.

Hi David, I hope that you could figure it out from my VMSprojectfile, how the animation was done by keyframing the pan/crop tool. Once understood, you're able to make your own animations! Success.
