Need some help with Behringer x touch as an external controller

Hello , I want to use the Behringer x touch as an external controller with Vegas Pro 22 . I managed to get it work in Mackie Emulation Mode for most of the audio functions and transport . But what I really want it to use for, is to control the opacity of the video channels. This I haven´t figured out ands couldn´t find any information. It seems in the Mackie control you can flip the function from audio to video if you press a certain button . Couldn´t figure out how to do this with the Behringer. Has anybody experience with that and could give me some instructions how I can control the opacity ? I would be very grateful .

I have a Behringer X-touch compact. When in Mackie mode, it is all audio and transport controls, not video. If you want some video control, you could try running it in MIDI mode and program the knobs/encoders, etc to control some video functions. But in Mackie, it's audio.

Ok , thanks for the info. I just thought if it´s possible to control video with the Mackie it should be somehow also possible with the Behringer in Mackie mode. I tried the generic mode already but Vegas reacted very strange when I assigned for example the faders . Anybody has experience with that ?

Just to be sure, did you change your X-touch to MIDI mode as well?

Yes, I did. I tried to program it but when I moved for example then the fader in the x touch , in Vegas the fader was jumping from zero to full all the time.

Interesting idea of trying to get the X-Touch Universal to work with Vegas. I too have it with the X32 Rack and SD16 stage box. I've used it with Reaper through the X32R and it worked like a charm.

How did you hook it up to the computer?

I connected it with the USB port. Worked fine in Mackie mode but only with audio. Rest I couldn´t really figure out . I somehow thought the x touch in Mackie mode is similar to the Mackie Control . Maybe a bit naive. Anyway I decided to send it back and get a used Mackie Control pro. For that are clear instructions in the Vegas manual . That hopefully should do the trick.

Interesting. I would think that it would be using audio with the ASIO and never thought about using it to control video editing software.

From my experience, Vegas implementation of MIDI and Mackie has been the bare minimum. And some odd behaviour. When I use my X-touch with Vegas, as soon as I start a new project, the first fader sets to 0. But it is controlling the master track. Once I add an audio track, the second fader comes alive as well as the master fader. I have not tried to use it to control any video effects, but it works fine with audio faders and transport, but some of the other mackie options don't seem to function.
