Hi all,

Ok so what i am trying to do is really simple:

1: a segment appear throu a transition and becomes full screen.amd at on point it freezes , so far so good

2: the image will move to the upper left side

3: while moving there it will shrink so it can occupy 1/4 of the screen

4: While it shrinks it will stay focus on the center part of of the image so that only the center part will be show at the upper left corner , not the whole image.

So far i have played around with the cookie cutter , the pan/crop tool and all i get is that the image moves ok but doesn't shrink.

Any suggestions

thx

Phil

I'd use Pan Crop to zoom into the centre part you mention, then use Track Motion to shrink the whole frame and move it to top left.

The pan/crop tool will shrink it (or zoom it). Drag the little squares around the border of the image. If you play around with it, you'll get it. It's not all that intuitive, but once you get the hang of it, it'll be fine.

Thx a lot guys,

I actually found a transition that does exactly that BUT:

1: i have already have a transition at the beginning (iris) of the event, when i try to got into the properties of the one at the end (zoom) Vegas show me the properties of the first even though the title of the event is "zoom out" ???

2: when i try to make the transition freeze at one point , everything is set right but it just won't stop , it will continue like i didn't tell vegas otherwise..

Any ideas why these strange behaviors occur

I'm not even sure you can freeze a transition without rendering it to avi first and then freeze the resulting event. I haven't tried. Not much of a transition kind of a guy, me.

So, do this: create the transition cleanly, render it out (avi format) and import the result. Do your track motion - pan/crop thing with that.

I think one of the features of Vegas 5 is that you can have envelopes on transitions. There was talk about freezing a page curl and making it go backwards.

Yes, the V5 transition envelopes allow you to do this. It's a very nice feature because of the fine control over the transition progress.
