I finished a project and gave final DVD of the Musical, "Oliver" to client. Then due to hard drive problems errased project from computer. However in Chapter 7 DVD starts freezing up...this DVD will not duplicate on my 7 Dup Tower and wont on friends either because of error.
I tried reburning the DVD files but same problem (this is when I screamed out UGHHHHH!!). Oringally I rendered this project to Dolby stereo and the audio files are hidden in final DVD. I can drag the video ones back into vegas. Is there anyway PlEASE to save this project from rediting it.

Thanks You,
Randy

well if it is a totally botched burn -- no ....

you can use DVD Decrypter .

you might have to change the settings to:

structure protection check to aggressive, set from io exchange/brute force to brute force/io exchange, select ignore read errors and detect mastering errors, and see if that helps.

or just "brute force" and not "brute force->I/O Exchange"

that will copy anything on the market right now and even a lot of badly burned disks ... it may really slow down in the bad areas and show lots of errors in the log -- thats ok ..

also -- make sure its not just dirt or something in one spot ..

B Jim,
I downloaded the software and ran in through twice. I still received one error even in BRUTE FORCE. Is there another setting I could try? And what is this force description key? Could that help?

Thanks,
Randy

You say that the audio files you need are AC-3s burried in the vob files of the DVD. Imtoo software has some tools that can do this conversion:

http://www.imtoo.com/

It's free for 30 days, so you don't even need to buy it to do this project.

Also, MPEG VCR at womble.com will demux and separate the audio from video portions of a file if you need to do that.

Laurence ,
Thank you for that knowledge. Now guess what?
D JIM Rocks!!!! I tried checking the force VOB CSS FLag removal along with BRUTE force in DVD Decrypter and it solved my problem!!! NOOOOO ERRORS!!! I tested DVD in player and it runs smoothe!
I just made 7 copies in my New Pioneer tower!
Client was bringing over the 2 DV tapes so I could redit ACT 1 and ACT 2 of musical. This saved me the agony of watching "Oliver" over and over again.

Thank you so much this is the best forum on earth...even better then that Great Western Forum where Magic Johnson use to play.

Actually bad news. I did not notice this last night. The DVD now plays and records but there seems to be two audios going off with one barley out of sync.
