Need transparent background for "time to zoom in"

I'm trying to do and "timed zoom in "but I would like to have a transparent background. I know how to click on properties and where to select the background color but I cannot figure out how to achieve a transparent background. On another note on the rolling credits I've done the following to slow them down.

A) lowering the playback rate
B) stretching the envelope
C) selecting slow enter from the bottom and slow exit to the top

This did a pretty good job of slowing down the text. I would like to know if there any other methods of slowing down the scroll.

Ummmmmmm. A transparent background of your video clip? Like what they do on the news to put the weatherman in front of the map? Is that what you're after? If so, you have to have a solid color background in the video clip to begin with, then use the Chroma Keyer to remove it.

What i do for slowing down credit rolls is to change the Media length: at the top of the credit roll media generator window to whatever length i want. The default is 10 seconds, so setting it to 50 seconds would go 1/5 as fast. Then drag the length of the credit roll event out to match this length.

No What I mean is the default background for "timed zoom in" is a black background instead of just floating the letters in on top of your video.

OmegaMan,

The closest thing I could find in my defaults for "Generated Media...SF Credit Roll" is the "Timed Zoom In/Out on Blue" preset.

If this is what you're referring to, then if you right-click on the event in the timeline & choose "Edit Generated Media" & then click the "Styles" tab you should see a "Background Color" drop-down. Click on the drop down & on the left side of the drop-down window, to the left of the RGB sliders you should see an alpha slider (unlabeled, but you'll see a gradient from the solid selected color to a checkered transparency). Sliding that slider all the way tp the bottom will give you a transparent backgroung. If you place the cursor over the alpha slider, a tool tip will pop up indicating "Alpha: 0.00%"

This should give you a completely transparent background.

In the future, be more clear about what you're having a problem with, by specifically mentioning the various screens, tabs etc. This way those of us who'd like to help can replicate what you're doing & figure out what the issue is.

Good Luck!

tried that shredder but it did not work. Background stays black unless I use chroma key plug in and that affects the playback rate.

go to the styles tab in the credits plugin. you can change the background color and transparency by clicking the background color drop down button at the bottom of the panel. there is a slider on the left side of the box with a checker pattern. drag the slider to the bottom for 100% transparency.
