In between my studying the VV3 manual and my real world uses of many of the features included the one that I seem to be having the hardest time to grasp is "assignable fx". It sounds pretty dumb but I've been getting great results without it. But its bugging me that I'm not using it intentionally, just alittle stumped at how I would benefit by using it. I've been just adding fx to individual tracks and then mixing them down to busses[more fx],before sending them to the master for final output.
Here is a sample project that I'm working on:
Track 1: Stereo music track tweaked in SF5 [sent to master bus]
Track 2: Bass guitar, tweaked already in SF5 [Master bus]
Track 3:Female vox [Bus c] :intro
Track 4: " :Main chorus vox
Track 5: " :Adlib
Track 6:Male vox lead {baritone voice}[Buss B]:intro
Track 7: " :Main Verse/Adlib
Track 8: " :Adlib
Track 9-17:Male vox lead {mid-range} [Buss A]:intro
:1rst/3rd Main verse/Adlib
:various touch ups plus doubling lines.
Plugins used: PSP Vintage Warmer [Master]
SoFo track compressor [Busses]
Clone Ensemble [female vox track fx]{cool fx!}
SoFo track EQ for all vox [individual tracks, settings variable due to vocal timbre+placement in the mix]
Any different configuration that you guys swear buy and ideas on how to keep my cpu meter at bay[using assign fx].
Mixing strategies and tips for having both the "clean" signal as well as a blend of the effected signal prior to bussing[or sent to the Master]
If you have a project that has a cool routing of the audio/fx please post so I may compare and grab some ideas.
Looking forward to any insite that anyone can share to help "well round" my knowledge of VV3 audio features.
Later.
