Needs tips for a Media Mute Shortcut

tf_studio wrote on 10/1/2022, 5:53 AM

Hello Everyone,

i'm trying to add a shortcut to mute a single media on the timeline instead of using the 0/100% bar in order to optimize my utilization of the software but i can't find the name of the command in the Keyboard Preferences.

Does anyone know it? (PS: my software is in french but even the English name would be useful) 👍

This can be done in two ways each using 3 simple mouse actions: 1/ R click the event, select 'Switches' and then from the context window that opens, select 'Mute'; or 2/ R click the event and select Properties and then from the context window that opens check the 'Mute' switch. Voila! C'est fait!

I know ^^ but i'm trying to find a way to do it in 1 pressed key instead of 2/3 mouse clicks, because this action is repeated almost one hundred time per hour and it's really consuming a lot of time at the end 😅

That's vastly different to:

... this action is repeated almost one hundred time per hour ...

Have a look at Vegasaur Toolkit because it allows many selected events to have their Properties changed in one fell swoop - but those events need to be highlighted in the first place.

I already checked Vegasaur but it sadly don't have this option, however by looking on the web i just found a solution to assign a shortcut ! it was : Option>>Customise Keyboard : Click on GLOBAL >> search on "Mute"
this should return "Edit.Event.Mute" and then type in a Shortcut Key

Thanks for the help :)
