When converting some of my GoPro HD Hero mp4s with NeoScene 1.6, I recently noticed that some of converted avi files appeared to be interlaced. In Sony Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 9, in the Explorer Tab, I clicked on a converted avi and it displayed....

Video: 1920x1080x24, 29.970 fps interlaced....

This has ONLY happened with clips in the GoPro's r5 resolution, i.e., 1080p

I sent a sample mp4 to Cineform and they have confirmed this minor bug. They tell me NeoScene assumes that the 1080p mp4 is interlaced. They will be fixing it in a future release.

They explained that the file is just "flagged" incorrectly and should actually be progressive.

So no big deal.

Their suggested workaround in SVMS....

Once you have a clip on the timeline, right click on it and select properties. Then select the "Media" tab. Then in the "Field order" dropdown menu, select "None (progressive)". Now that you've told SVMS the file is progressive, it should be fine.

I recommend NeoScene for converting the GoPro HD mp4s to avi for editing if you don't mind spending $129. It works great and tech support has been excellent.
