If you are using Neoscene, and your camera records in 5.1 surround, you need to download and install a seperate audio converter. Read the help file, or go to the web site and search the issue. I did the same thing when I first installed Neoscene. The resulting sound is then 2 channel stereo, but that's OK for my purposes. It's pretty simple, and you only have to do it once, not every time you convert files.
The camera is a Sony T500 which outputs stereo sound using H.264/MPG4AVC encoding.
I've tested the clips in Media Player, so its not just Vegas that misses the audio. I can import the audio from the original clips, but it doesn't seem to line up correctly with the NeoScene versions.
Just installed trial of NeoScene and "No Audio Stream is Detected" upon conversion.
The mp4 files that I am attempting to convert are AAC Audio. Just for kicks tried downloading the AC3 Filter and that had no affect. Using a 64bit PC Vista. Any suggestions for getting audio recognized?
Jay, I passed the problem on to Cineform with a 3 sec test clip MP4. They tried NeoScene and also found mising audio. However, within a few days, they posted an update which now processes the files and leaves the audio intact.
I sent a support ticket to Cineform and they have not replied. The patch does not seem to be available to download for those who are testing the trial version (1.3.6 Build 121). By any chance is this a 64bit issue?
