I think Jim,from this forum and DMN Vegas forum, stated awhile ago that the guy who wrote DVD Decrypter was hired by Nero and he developed or improved Recode for Nero.
We don't need to be informed of that, thanks. If anyone needs to know how to illegally copy their DVD's, they can find plenty of info by searching online.
Informed is fine, but I've always been of the opinion that this forum is pretty high-grade, and doesn't steal the property of others.
Well, not quite everybody.
What's the problem with this ? I use illegal tools (DVD decrypter) to rip my LEGALLY purchased DVDs so I can put them on my media server. Using stuff that sounds illegal is not always linked with pirating...
JJK, DSE is publicly stating the ArtBeats lib pictures/videos used in the public domain tutorial was done without their permission nor knowledge. ArtBeats first legal option is the license with VASST/DSE and VASST/DSE is expected to protect the library material by all "reasonable means" from mis-use, thief,...etc. DSE is stating that VASST/DSE performed all "reasonable means" and ArtBeats should not look to them for a legal/money solution. I support DSE position, but an agressive atty will nail DSE about not protecting his domain names and that DSE publicly states his knowledge about music, video, movie business and his knowledge of software apps, building systems,(as in posts in the forums)..etc.. which works against the arguement of being an unwilling victim and that he created an "open" workplace vs a "protected" workplace. But I support DSE position, I'm just pointing out that DSE is not over reacting, just demonstating that he not part of any mis-use.
DSE/VASST has been a good client/promoter of ArtBeats products, it would not be a good business example to burn VASST/DSE over Gary's action,( though, attys go for the easy money settlements).
Gary, if you are reading this, please review you your data, files, and agreements. With your knowledge of the business, this should not be happening.
Used to be one saw rather dodgy rips of commercial DVDs, many of them not even worth watching.
What I'm seeing now is ISO copies of very high quality material, some of it even higher quality than the commercial release. This is certainly a new trend and a disturbing one when a pirated copy is of higher quality than what you pay hard cash for. This isn't some pimply faced kids work, these are encodes from the telecine transfers by the look of them, up to 9GB per download but with ADSL 2 and unlimited downloads they're becoming the norm and you can see the movied before the premiere, freaky stuff, Hollywood has some serious leaks.
