Nested 5.1 projects

I was under the impression if you import a nested 5.1 project...the 5.1 mix remains intact...however I discovered this in Vegas help files
"The output from the nested project's master bus is used to create the audio event. If you nest a 5.1 surround project, the audio event will be a stereo downmix of the surround master bus."

Am I missing something here?

strange..
what ive noticed with this is that the 5.1 mix remains intact (ie you HEAR the mix in 5.1 IF youre master veg is a 5.1 project) however the "track" itself is thrown on the timeline within a stereo environment

BUT ive found, to manipulate a pan in 5.1 space, u just open that veg in another instance do ur tweaks and those changes take effect within teh veg once it updates itself.. much like the way the video updates work

When I place a 5.1 veg on the timeline of a 5.1 project, only the left front and the right front channels of the nested project are brought through. Center and surround channels are lost.

I sure do hope this shortcoming gets addressed in upcoming updates....
