Nested: Add As Take - Vid OR Aud? Not both?

Am I doing something wrong?

I've just now started in exploring Nested Timelines . . . using ADD AS TAKES,and I'm getting the Video split OFF from the Audio. Meaning, I'm either getting the Video or the Audio of the added as "Take" event . .. and no, I'm not selecting the Vid/Aud option.

I must be doing something wrong here. Although not having Nested T/L in previous versions of VEgas, I've now just checked back as far as V4 too. Same result - Vid stream or Audio, not both, as "Takes".

TIA,

Grazie

That's right from what I understand, Vegas has no concept of audio 'locked' to video.

Oh .. ok .. then why have a menu offering Audio OR Video? This suggests to me that the DEFAULT is "locked" and this further option/s allow for unlocking - as it were.

Great stuff this Nesting, now that it is R-A-P-I-D > > > F-A-S-T

I think the first problem is Takes only work on one track, you cannot add audio and video as a take, first of Vegas knows nothing about the audio 'belonging' to the video. If I drop an AVI onto the time line and then add another audio track, guess what, there's no special realationship between either of those audio tracks and the video track. So if I try to add an AVI pair as a take it's got no way of knowing what to do with the audio track, should it add that as a take to audio track 1 or 2?
