Right click on the nested project. In the pop-up Menu, 4th line down, "Edit in Vegas (Cooldraft.veg)", click on that and another instance of Vegas SHOULD be fired-up with Cooldraft.veg ready for you to edit.

This DOES work but it does not put my cursor where I want to edit. For a demonstration: right click and select open in trimmer in vegas ( you will notice that the cursr is nicely placed at the location in trimmer). This does not happen when you right click and open a veg. Any way to get the new instance to see where I want t edit?

Ahah! Cools!! You like to give me a challenge huh? I now undestand better . .

Try this:

#1 - Place your cursor where you want to edit

#2 - Right click and open Nested project in New instance

#3 - ALT+TAB to switch back to MAIN Project

#4 - Open Your Nested Veg in the Trimmer - as you did!

#5 - COPY the Cursor Position window

#6 - ALT TAB back to Nested Project

#7 - PASTE into Cursor Position window on the Timeline

DONE!

I just did it. I guess you CAN streamline this, but basically the Trimmer Window does have the info you want.

I don't know a slicker way of doing it - maybe somebody is holding back and waiting? Maybe a Script Guru can have a go? Dunno . ..

Anyways It's do-able and can be tightened up.

Grazie

Grazie, how'z about this then ... do the steps in this order:
#1, #4, #5, #2, #7.

That way there's no need for steps #3 & #6. That'll save 28.56% of the toil right there.

Great, this does indeed do the trick, I will name my regiond better next project. But would welcome a script genius to take a wack at it!!!!

I did ponder on that for a bit. But I knida "spelt-it-out" so others could UNDERSTAND what I was explaining. Nice shortcut thought Kelly!
