Here's a tricky one for my first post. I'm a new Vega user and loving it but struck this rather frustrating problem.
Firstly, I finally got network rendering working on IEEE1394 thanks to the help found on this forum. Problem was DNS suffix but was tricky to fix because I also run this on a 100 lan.
I digress...
I created shared folders, copied some test clips, made a test project and rendered fine. Stitching was quick and network load was minimal. Great stuff.
BUT
I had earlier done a large project in a different folder on the edit machine and couldn't get it to network render. Research appears to show it as that common "shared resource" problem.
Did I have a solution?
I used the SAVE AS function with the "copy media option" and "shifted" the project to the successful shared test folder. I checked the clips and it seems that the path reference to each clip is correct.
BUT it still won't render on the 2nd machine despite it working fine on the test project .... I still get the "failed" msg problem.
To confirm my issue, I did the SAVE AS on my test project to a new folder in the shared folder and that rendered fine.
It would appear that the veg file is not updating paths or something as all resources are there. I even renamed the original source folders to see if I got an error when I reloaded the project and I didn't so it is definitely loading from the test folder correctly.
Perhaps if Vega NRS was a little more detailed in the error I might have half a chance at finding the problem.
Any help on this greatly appreciated in advance. I've included a snip from the log to show that the test works fine and yet the other project fails.
BTW: No QT or TIFF files exist in the project.. Simply AVI, WAV and a single BMP.
