network render & generated media problem

i network rendered my project using the dvda templates. using dvda, i burned a simple dvd. when playing in my home dvd player, the text at the end changed size and font in the middle of displaying it. i thought this was strange as everything looked fine using video preview in vegas.

so, i looked at my rendered mpeg and sure enough, the text changes. i again looked at vegas preview and everything is fine. so, i rendered just the generated text region to avi and previewed it - looks just fine.

i did another network render using avi this time. since i need to print to tape, i figured this would be better. again, the final rendered video text changes, but in a different place now.

so, after a lot of scratching (can't say where), i think i've figured this problem out. my 2 network render computers don't have the font i used, but my master render computer does. so, different chunks are rendered differently.

this might not be a bug, but i think vegas should handle this better. i see one of 2 ways to do this:

1. have the master send the font information to the slave if needed.

or

2. have the slave tell the master "i can't render this" and have the master render it instead.

i don't like having vegas acting like everything went smoothly with the network render when it didn't. i caught this previewing the dvd, but i could see someone in a rush not catching it.
