Network Render Mystery

Network rendering has been performing flawlessly for me on 4 separate gigibit networked computers (I have two Vegas licences). Tonight I rebooted one of the renderers and was met with the error message "The root element is missing" "The application must quit".....not very useful! Re-installed Net Framework and DirectX 9a. Re-installed Vegas renderer. Same old message.
Can anyone assist with this obscure but annoying problem?

Sounds like it might be a corrupt xml file. First check the settings
file located in Vegas' application settings directory:

c:\Documents and Settings\YourUserName\Application Data\Sony\Vegas\5.0\VegSrv.settings

You can just rename it and try running the net render service again.

I have not been to this forum much lately, so forgive me if this is a DONE topic.
But please how is network rendering working out for you.

A better CPU makes all the difference, so the network rendering sounds great.

Yes i saw the other PDF thread, but apparently you can get MBoards that can take 4 CPU's. (Apparently the chips only work if there is at least one other on the board)
So I am thinking that 2 or (even 4???) of these would have to give startling performance.

How has it been for you ? Would Vegas with 4 cpu's in one box still farm out work ? Does the 2nd machine work from the end and move backward ?
