Network storage

Is it possible to capture directly to a network server or do I have to capture directly to my pc? If so, what kinda network do you run? Wonder if 100mbit switched network is fast enough for realtime capture.

A real-time DV stream is about 30Mb/s. If you're really lucky, you should be able to get about 60 to 90MB/s out of a 100Base-Tx network. So yes, it is possible. I won't guarantee you'll always get good results though. If any other network traffic hits either the capturing computer or the storage computer you'll probably bog down. Whether this will drop frames or cause errors, i don't know.
