Many thanks to Satish and GG!

This plugin is very cool. Download it and see.

Thanks Satish and GG,
I have not had much time to play with it yet but what little I did looks GREAT!

This plugin is awesome! I can see many tutorials/veg files etc.

What I wanted to do is have a talking head pip in a 3D perspective that would swing in and fill the screen.

Easy to do. Download the plugin.

Step 1:
Punch these numbers in on the first keyframe:
Scale X & Y =0.5
Position X = -0.163265
Rotate Y = 21* (*=degrees)
Perspective = 0.855000

Step 2:
Copy your keyframe from step 1 and paste.

At this point you have your pip perspective and you can set your duration.

Step 3:
Time to transition to full screen.
One thing I really like is the Reset button.
Set a third keyframe 1/2 to 3/4 of a second after keyframe 2.
While on keyframe 3 click reset.

Play your video in 3D perspective to full screen. Cool!

All I have to say is, I can't believe it's free.

Fantastic. My wife will have to yell even louder now to get me to come to bed and stop experimenting with my video.

Thanks a bunch!

how do you turn off the ram preview? Love the plugin. keep vegas in the lead of NLE sostware.

I would like to echo the thanks to GG & Satish for their time & effort !

Makes PIP for motion buttons on motion DVD menus a synch.

Great work !

This ability has been sorely missed in Vegas after coming from Cinestream. It seems to be nicely written.

By using a Border effect FIRST (to blur the edges), this tool can now be used to replace Track Motion for creating PIPs and many other effects where Track Motion was Required. I was going to suggest the blurred border until I realized it could be applied FIRST.

VV is awesome, this new plug-in is outstanding - but there not that good ;-)

Maybe they're better. :(

Well, i, for one, certainly feel wonderfully appreciative :)

Great tip on using border effects. Gave me just the look I needed. Awesome, incredibly well-done plug-in. I came over from Adobe Premiere Pinnacle and would never go back but this was the one thing I missed. Now I'll probably ruin all my movies by making every scene a 3D effect! :>)

Animated background generators is the biggie for me. It can be done in software with relative ease. No offense to Jumpbacks but they charge too much for the little guy like me IMHO.
Cheesehole wrote on 11/9/2002, 12:03 AM
those jumpbacks are mostly top notch stuff. they weren't just generated with a plug in, but are composites of many different effects and animations.

I have made some looping backdrops out of video using some tedious techniques... maybe somehow there could be a looping video plug in that uses video as a source and makes seamless loops out of clips. maybe there already is one... :D

thanks GG and Satish for stepping up and writing plug ins. wish I could claim the same. how was the development process? is the SDK good in your opinion?
satish wrote on 11/9/2002, 1:17 AM
The SDK is good enough for plugins that do not need a lot of flexibility. If you're more interested in plugin development, we can talk offline.

I'm much interested to hear ideas for new plugins from users. Please write to me if you get any sparks/ideas :)

I figured I would get some negative feedback. Nothing wrong with jumpbacks. They are quite good actually. They are not in the low budget range though.

My opinion is if you can create a decent background generator, I would be first on line to buy it.

Thank you.
satish wrote on 11/9/2002, 3:22 AM
What kind of background generators do you have in mind? Some examples would be of help as i am gathering ideas for future plugin work...

I am curious as to how Sofo really feels about everything.

While I can't speak for the company, I'm very impressed with the plug-in. Top-notch quality. Superb UI.

After some experimentation, I noticed that it needs to do better image down-scaling. When things get scaled down a lot, it needs to integrate over an area of pixels. As it is, you can get some "swimming" in the small areas due to aliasing. But other than that, the rendering is great, and SPEEDY!

I can't wait to use it in some projects.

Satish, I uploaded samples of what I'd like to see for a plug in. they are on Chienworks site:
http://www.chienworks.com/media/vidfact/

I'm not sure when they'll be posted, but I uploaded them. drunken.petals and drunken.candles

Where do I put the Veg files after I download them?
Chienworks wrote on 11/10/2002, 10:12 AM
On your harddrive, wherever it's convenient. It doesn't matter much where, as long as you remember where you put them. Maybe       C:\My Documents\       would work.
steinar wrote on 11/10/2002, 11:51 AM
It's nice and all but it does not seem to give a rats ass about interlacing. So in order to get good quality i have to "Reduce Interlace Flicker".....

PS: My system is PAL and my rendering are ALWAYS set to best...
