New Audio Playback Error

New (to me) Playback Error. Audio works fine using default system audio (mapper, direct, classic). Then I render a clip and get this error. I then have to go Prefs and select any device choice to "re-connect" the audio. Was working fine till yesterday, never seen this issue before.

This usually means two apps are trying to access the same audio. sometimes it is as simple as temporarily changing Windows default.

I am in bootcamp and there is only one choice for audio (no added audio i/o)

I recently had this issue. The solution, someone told me, is to go into Windows Sound settings and allow Vegas permission to use the microphone.

It sounds unintuitive because what the heck has rendering got to do with the mic - but it worked for me, so I hope that can help for you.
