Add it to the TRACK instead of the EVENT.

Now THAT'S interesting . . .

When you posted this I thought, hmmm... maybe Rory can't see the "Preview" play >>> arrow?

So, I did what I have done a zillion times, and repeated the process of dragging an audio FX to the audio Event and "play" - Well, I've got an "ERROR: Take . . . . . " - hmmm...

So I repeated this in Vegas 7. No problem at all. I can right click and "Apply Non-Real Time Event Fx . . " and get the Preview arrow. I can also drag an audio fx onto an audio Event and up pops its menu and I can play Preview too.

But this is NOT happening in Vegas8c. I get the ERROR message and see the p[review arrow and when I go to play I get a crash.

So, what can I say? Only . . "SONY? Hi there! How YOU doing. .?"

Edward, try adding it to the Event by Right Clicking.

Hmmm... well, after the crash I started up Vegas8c again and now it is working as it should.

No, I wont call SONY - yet!

Ok guys start at the very very beginning

Right click on track and insert audio fx I get a mix that doesn’t show any levels next to the master mixer?

Grazie I know you are laughing at me right now but what preview arrow?

"Grazie I know you are laughing at me right now but what preview arrow?"

No I am not.

My right-click was, and is, for Event audio fx. Edward's solution was for Track.

For Event:
You should be getting an audio adjustment window/menu - as if it was a video fx. Maybe you have the the audio adjustment window/menu too small horizontally to see the preview "PLAY" arrow? It looks like a "VCR PLAY" arrow?

Hmmm... can you post or PM me a screen grab? You could try as a test, one of SONY's standard audio fxs? Try doing the same with one of them? Let's see if you are ok with the SONY audio fx first yeah?

I've just repeated the process and it works. Again, let's see if it's ok with a standard SONY audio fx - yeah?

Track Audio Fx
This is what I can do. Drag a standard SONY audio fx to the Track header. IMMEDIATELY an Audio Plugin window appears. I can adjust and SET the parameters for that audio fx. I'm using SONY "Chorus". I can then play this as per normal VEgas Timeline playing - NO ARROW here - 'cept the arrow on the Vegas Timeline ( my arrow was for the Right Click on Event - you asked about apply to Event - yeah? This is NOT that!). So now I have this audio FX applied to ALL that track. I can insert an FX Envelope and adjust it to be ON or OFF.

Both of these methods - Event (which you originally asked for, and I responded to) and Track, have prerender Previewing. It would be totally daft if it didn't?

There is definitely something amiss that you can't get to this. Hmmm....

Again try a standard SONY audio fx . . .

Interested . ..
