I wish I had gotten the Pro version for the New Blue effects.

Be careful how you say things like that. The "Pro" version of Vegas is Vegas Pro (around $500.00) not Vegas Movie Studio Pro Pack (about $100.00)

Sorry about that. I guess there might be a few people who could become confused. I will try to be more careful when I am posting a topic in "The Vegas Movie Studio Forum" that no one thinks I am referring to Vegas Pro for which there is a separate "Vegas PRO Forum" to post in for Vegas Pro users. To Clear up I am referring to the New Blue Effects found in Sony Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 9 Pro Pack version 9.09b. I wish I had gotten Sony Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 9 Pro Pack version 9.09b for the New Blue effects instead of Sony Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 9 version 9.09b . I have the New Blue in another program, I do not think the details of that program are needed as this is not a forum for that program, however, if needed I could provide. I would like to know where I could place the New Blue effects in my copy of Sony Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 9 version 9.09b or if it is even possible or maybe I am in the wrong forum and I could be re directed.

Evidentally you are a "newbe" here. I wasn't scolding you. That confusion is somewhat common despite the title of the various forums.

I don't think so. I believe that if the NB FX came with the software, they are not transferrable to another software package. May want to contact NB customer service and seewhat they have to say.

There is a nice FREE effect (CartoonR) on the newblueFX website. I suggest you try that one out first.

Second, as your skills improve, you'll learn that these kinds effects (and transitions) are more of a distraction than added value to your movies, and you'll use them less and less.
So my advise here is not to invest too much money in them, and rather upgrade your hardware (lenses, camera, pc);

Thanks for the constructive replies. I am tending to believe Mark655, New Blue is not transferable. I downloaded cartoonr already. I have had it before, haven't really found a use for it yet but interesting to have. I am finding it is true, that in learning to use the effects that came with Sony Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 9 version 9.09b I will not need those New Blue effects. I have been doing color correcting with the effects that came with my Sony Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 9 version 9.09b and find them quite easy to learn and use. I downloaded a trial New Blue sample pack yesterday and brought up Film Look, to to some color correction, and all I could think was "why do I need New Blue?" I think Ivan123 has offered good advice: "my advise here is not to invest too much money in them, and rather upgrade your hardware (lenses, camera, pc);"
