... New Blue experience ...

Anyone have any experience with the NewBlue contrast adjustment in the Essential III package?
It looks good for bringing back the color and contrast from old faded VHS tapes ... does it work as well as depicted in the demo video on their site? Sometimes people take a very vivid clip and dull it with desaturation and contrast to make it look like a great enhancement, when, in fact, it is a smoke and mirrors trick.
I'm not accusing NewBlue of doing that; I'm just saying it is quite an amazing transformation...
I've purchased the package for that effect and because it is packaged with the light rays as well for free - I can use that...
So, if no responses or comments, not to worry, I'll have an opinion of my own before too long... (grin)

Any thoughts or comments?

Until that time... Earl J.

I find it lame that video essentials keeps going on and on with its versions. First, one came out, then two, then three, soon there will be a four and five. Kinda goes against the whole essential concept IMO.

I'd rather it be a complete bundled package at a discount instead of this BS fragmentation.

If you use the Sony's CC and Contrast filter it is the same thing with more control, and renders faster.

I did buy Video Essentials II but that's it for me. I'm saving my money.

Understood ... which is why I was anxious to see what Sony presented today at the webinar... (sigh)
I get so confused with all the adjustments - maybe I should look at some presets ... (grin)

Which is what I like about NewBlue functions, they have a number of presets to select to get close and then the user can fine tune the rest...
I get so convoluted in CC, the whole thing is gray and brown before I know it ... lol
