The old NB FX were 32 bit and hence not compatible with the new 64-bit application. If you install the 32 bit version of SMS (VMS), you'll see them.

EDIT - Sorry that was the Cinescore response! The NB FX are available.

Check your purchased programs in "your account", they have a 64 bit NewBlue download (at least they did for us who bought the download version).

The NewBlue transitions you bought will work in the 64 bit environment. Before I bought the 64 bit version ov VMS 12, I contacted New Blue support just to be sure. They said all I needed to do is re-run the executable and choose the 64 bit version of the effects package and it will install and be available for the 64 bit version of VMS 12. And so I did and they all work and are available. The sad news is that Cinescore will not in anyway work with the 64 bit version of VMS 12. But will work in the 32 bit version of VMS 12.

Meksmk,

Yes, you are correct. I corrected my post above to reflect that. Momentary confusion :(

Thanks for that info. So I guess that means running the install from platinum 11 and using the 64 bit versions? And also can I continue to use the 32 bit content for projects I'm still working on in platinum 11 after installing the 64 bit content for platinum 12?

In the past, for 32-bit applications, you needed to install the VMS version that came with the plugins. For example, VMS 11 and then the the NB plugins that came with that version. Install new version. You can then safely delete the old VMS version, and the plugins would show up in the latest version. I haven't tried the 64-bit SMS. However, I do recall reading that the 32 bit plugins that came with various versions of VMS are NOT transferable to 64 bit SMS12. They are transferable to SMS12 (32 bit) though.

If you bought a plugin pack direct from NB, then you can download a new installer from their webpage to use in 64 bit environments. The plugins that came bundled with VMS over the years do not fall into this category.

Markk655....got it, and thanks again. No real loss, since there are so many transition choices in 12, but was just wondering if the old ones could be used.

Transitions and effects bundled with previous versions of Movie Studio will not work in the 64-bit version of Movie Studio 12. As all preview versions of Movie Studio were only 32-bit, the bundled products were only 32-bit.

Any purchased effects and transitions will work fine in the 64-bit version of Movie Studio 12. However, you may need to reinstall in order to make them available if only the 32-bit version was previously installed.
