new Boris Graffiti UI?

Howdy all. Just got the email about the new Boris FX 9 & Graffiti 5 and see they're boasting about a new UI. Has anyone had a chance to demo (or beta test) either of these programs? Seems the steep learning curve is the primary complaint about Boris products, so I was wondering if they'd magically fixed that with this release. I'd check out the trial version myself, but 1) I'm back to caveman dialup speeds, and 2) I wouldn't be able to tell if the UI still blew chunks or if I was just slow!

That flows from the Boris Red update that came out a month or so ago as these products are carved out subsets of that item. I tried the new Boris Red, didn't see that much significant difference.

I have Boris Red 4.0 and although the UI is better, it still not very intuitive. But that is usually the price you pay for a high-power application. Over the last month, I have pretty much figured out about 90% of the application with a minimum of support from their manuals (which are often lacking).

Unlike Vegas where you can park or float your windows within a well defined area, the Boris windows are more like four separate windows that stick together (most of the time). It just doesn't feel completely integrated (although funtionally it really is). Despite all this, Boris Red (as well as Graffiti and FX) is a feature-rich and powerful application. I am very glad I have it, but I do wish that Sony would do a better job of supplying the hooks to acheive a true plugin integration.

I also use Boris Red 4.0.

Yes, the UI is different, but not that revolutionary.

It is better, but you just have to hunker down and learn it...which I am trying to do.

Red does a lot. I really like it.
