Just got new camera. Been reading on the forum and seems the format is apparently a pain to work with.
Now have the new Sanyo Xacti 2000. The file is mp4 / h.264 I believe you call it.
Do you think my PC has enough grunt to do the rendering?
It is an Intel i7 920 chip with 6 Gb DDR3 Ram running Win 7 Pro. Nvidia 275 graphics board, 2 DVD burners.
Would you still suggest this Cineform NeoSCENE type add in to work with these files?
Do Sony VMS folks ever put out an add in for users to handle these new file formats etc. Would be easier on us if they did, rather than waiting 2 years for the next full release. These new formats seem to come out quite often.
The camera itself has all kinds of sizes you can have it record at.
1920x1080 60fps HR
1920x1080 60field/s
1920x 1080 30fps SHQ
1280x 720 30fps SHQ
640x 480 30fps SHQ
And it has some new size just for Apple, its called iFrame and its 960x540 - 30fps
but its only for iMovie.
What is the difference between the 60 fps and60 fields/s ? Im assuming they mean Frame per second or Field per second. Is Frame different from Field.?
What would be a choice to get HD but not the full
Their manual does not go into anything in detail. Many of these cameras give no info on what to do with these different options .
Does the VMS manual get into what these files mean and which are better for different purposes. Or just find one I like and can live with and use it and forget all these options.
