New Device not Available Vegas 7.0

I just purchased a Sony HVR-M15U to load tapes shot with my Sony Sony HVR-A1U camcorder. The camcorder interfaces to vegas (well at least to vegas 6.0) without a problem, however Vegas 7.0 does not detect the new device. I have removed 6.0 from the machine.

Windows device manager shows it under Imaginag devices (Sony DV Tape Recorder/Player) but not under IEEE 1394, as the camcorder is BTW it is a sony hvr-a1u. It is connected via the i-link cable.

I even tried to see if for somereasone it was coming in under the DV format... but is wasn't.

Any ideas? I'm sure Sony tested this configureation out.
Thanks. Jon

Be sure you have the deck in HDV mode.
Be sure you have the DVHS drivers working in Windows Control Panel
Be sure you're selecting the Internal, not External capture device for Vegas 7.

The deck was not in HDV mode! Thanks...

Now.... I can't open any of the captured files, I'm getting an...
File E:\Video_Temp\Clip 004.m2t could not be opened.
Could this be a driver? If so where are they located?

Thanks! Jon
