New DVD says it will play AVCHD

So, I was thinking that I'd like to play around with this. According to the specs (and Panasonic) it will playback DVD's that have AVCHD files on them........that's it no other information.

I'm sure there has to be some other specs (bitrate, framerate?....audio....)? What about the disc ? They say DVD -R or +R...even RW. Now would that mean simply files on a disc?

Other than experimentation, any ideas to get me started on this?

This is really more of a DVD Architect question than a Vegas MS question.

But, as long as you create a BluRay project and set your DVD Architect Project Properties to fit a DVD (4.7 gig), the program will ensure that your BluRau files fit on a DVD. Then you just burn your disc using Make BluRay Disc!

Of course, you'll only be able to fit about 20-30 minutes of hi-def video on a DVD disc.

The likelihood of this playing on a Panasonic unit is, in my experience, remote unless you follow one of the procedures detailed on the DVDA forum.
