New feature found....

I capture some stuff from HD cable box in native format (TS with AC3 streams.) To my surprise earlier, I dragged the wrong file to the timeline and presto, it opened the TS file with 5.1 surround sound. I feel like a kid at Christmas. Now I can actually edit out commericals and render out from the timeline. Woooo frickin hoooooo!

Or you could cut out the programs and just render out the commercials... ;-)

You think that's good, well I got me order today and I GOT THE BOX!

At last I can feel like a real editor 'cause I got the BOX!

And the final twist, I was wearing me trusty Vegas T-Shirt as I opened the box. I think I need to restage that moment for the cameras :)

All bugs are forgiven, see all you need to do to make is happy is give us the BOX.

I love having a manual too.Nice to be able to take to lunch at school and sit around reading it.

Reading something in public that says Vegas in bold letters on the cover probably induces innocent passers-by to all-sorts-of-conclusions not presuming a non-linear video editor.

I do want the box though.

How did you get the BOX? When I upgraded to V6 all I got was the pitiful "manuals" and two lousy CD sleeves. Is this another marketing ploy? Upgrade AGAIN and get a BOX!

I want a box! Does anyone have an old V6 box they don't want anymore?

I've got one goshep, mint condition, all parts accounted for. Get me my free upgrade to v7 and it's yours! :)

Oh yea? I'll pay for shipping.

Now what I REALLY want is one of those big boxes that they had for promos.
See now I can pee off the FCP guys with "my box is bigger than your box".

Speaking of FCP, man has that thing got more ways to get in wrong than I've had hot dinners. Client is now on the 3rd attempt to get me a useable tape for mastering. Last effort he forgot to enable audio, YISH. Why does he have this problemo, well he has to assemble the project to tape by doing insert edits, normal PTT from the T/L drops frames. This isn't on a MacBook, new G5 kitted out to the max. I smell another Vegas convert, and he hasn't seen THE BOX yet. That'll sell him for sure.

I guess I should chime in to say I've also received my Vegas + DVDA + Cinescore with boxes, manuals, S/Ns and even all the disks. Of course this was v7.0, so I've had to download 7a etc anyway.

"Hahahaha dude, those BIG boxes are like 200 bux each... "

I'm sold, where do I send my $200???

Sorry about the rest, I'm upto my eyeballs in work at the moment, NOT a good time to be installing a new release even though I could sure use those "I" frames on markers.

Hey Patrick ? Quick question who do you have for cable in F.M ? Comcast? how are you pulling the file from the recorder?
I would love to back up/ archive some of the HD stuff I have on the recorder but dont have a way to capture the component signal or the 5.1 sound.
I take it you are off loading the file.
Scientific Atlanta hd box here...I see it odes have a usb poet but have never tried it.

Ton of info in that thread. Basically hook up firewire cable from computer to cable box and use CapDVHS and it works like a charm. Warner cable here in Ft. Myers but should work the same with Comcast as both use the same boxes.
