Something that annoys me a lot with Vegas pro is the fact it apparently needs all drives running at certain actions or at certain intervals (not sure which action and when but I can guess it has something to do with their explorer). Thing is, I set my hard drives automatically to sleep after 5 minutes (via the windows advanced power settings). My hard drives are rarely used and only contain some backup and archive material. C-drive, OS, Vegas and edit projects all use SSD.
When editing with Vegas, I get frequent and regular "hangs" while Vegas is waking up my disks (for no good reason); I am forced to wait a few seconds before I can continue, which disrupts the editing. I am speculating this can also lead to permanent hangs in some cases by some users if it takes too long (not responding app by windows?). I understand you may really need a sleeping disk to wake when searching for media on that disk, therefor my request for a new feature:
New feature: user can select which disks Vegas is allowed to access in preferences or menu
Keep the disks sleeping, it is better for the environment (energy savings), less HD noise pollution and HD lifespan.
