New install, presets not being recognized?

I did an OS wipe/reinstall and then saved a new preset so that folder would be created. Whether in presets folder or in new subfolder created that had name in {} brackets, my saved presets aren't showing up. How do we get them to appear in the presets lineup? Must they perhaps be imported somehow. Can anyone advise?

You needed to save the registry entries too.

Okay, I know I have the veg files backed up to CD, so I can get my presets back manually it'll just take some time. But then how do I save these registry entries pls? I really looked and looked through the pdf manual and barring searching using the wrong terminology, I didn't find anything about backing up presets. In this case, the presets I'm speaking of are for the text I use in my titling so it's what is under the "Text" option in the Media Generator.
