This is the machine

My company bought this for my team.
When we got it set up, and did a test render. It was fine (Thursday) but today on another project, it wont render past 5-10%.
And what happens is, the "estimated time" keep on counting down, but the frame counter stops. It will reach 0:00:00 and still be at the same %. When I try and force quit, it says there is a background process running.
I've done the following:
Set the "Video editing mode" in the NVidia control panel drop down window
Selected "Video editing" in the 3D section of the control panel
Set program to run as administrator
Set the video card to be used for rendering
Updated to latest drivers
Video is being rendered to a internal Raid0 drive with 4TB storage (2TBx2)
Basically everything I've tried doesn't work...EXCEPT one thing...turning off the GPU render. But then it more than doubles, almost, triples the estimated render time. Goes from 10 minute to 25 or 30 minutes. This is for a 45 minute video at a non-HD resolution (which is funny cause our test on Thursday was a 720 render it did fine.
PS. We have the non-Pro version of 12, if anybody thinks that would work better? Probably not :-(
ADDITIONAL:
I've been messing with the CUDA settings and making sure my render preset says "Use CUDA if available." and using "MainConcept" rather than Sony. I've also been messing around with the number of processors. Nothing has rendered to completion yet. One got to about the %15 mark and then the program crashed completelty (normally the render just stops, but the program is still functioning.
