NEW METHOD-TECH: 4D solution for clip management - multi-format!

Hi All,

I've been thinking about a cobbled 4D solution for video clip management -- you'll see a discussion initiated in the thread at the URL is listed below. The idea is to work in tandem with Vegas 4 facilities and supplement other products (including the venerable Scenealizer). I think I have found a foundational solution and a product to support it -- video thumbnail file generation and **Media Resizer**. I'm pretty sure a lot of you guys will appreciate it in use, if not so much in theory (like I do :>) ). It's a best of breed (currently the ONLY) multi-format video thumbnailer that **works directly from files.** In brief it creates co-files -- a small jpeg with the same name as the video files. These can be viewed and manipulated by any product that will show thumbnails, including (for example) PowerDesk (a Windows Explorer replacement), and I am told Windows XP Windows Explorer (that is NOT redundant. Well...). Media Resizer is very flexible at what it does.

For a vegas-head description & methodology go here:

You'll also find a coupon code and hot link for the 25% discount on the pro version for SF video-heads (only) in the **next** message in the thread.

I humbly suggest slogging though the entire thread to get a context of the approach.

I haven't had an opportunity to work with V4 yet -- I just got notice my box has shipped so I will. Meanwhile LET US ALL KNOW WHAT YOU THINK!
