New preview screen issue???

I just hooked up an external monitor to my pc. I dragged the preview window into it to see how it looked. It looked great so I closed everything out and called it a day. Now when I open Vegas the preview window is missing. It's not open in the external monitor either. I'm lost. I'm using a HD tv connected with a VGA from the tv to a HDMI in the pc if that matters.

Is there a simple way to restore vegas to the original setting? I can't find the preview screen, please help...

Most of the time when a window cannot be located, it's hiding under the start bar.

You might also try going to View - Window Layouts - Default Layout.

By the way ... if that "second monitor" is configured as a Windows Secondary Display ... that is not the way to view the preview window. Instead of dragging the window over to the second monitor, you need to activate the Windows Secondary Display in Vegas and then click on the small monitor icon at the top of the preview window and Vegas will send the preview to the second monitor automatically.

Ok, I found the preview screen but ran into a new problem. When I trim a clip the preview screen doesn't show the clips progression as it trims. I hope that makes sense. I'm used to seeing the preview screen move with the clip as I trim.

Right now when I trim a clip the preview screen will stay on one frame.

I know I'm missing a simple setting but I just don't know what one.
