Care to tell us from where?

Although I'd be a little worried. These might be old stock. One piece of advice I've picked up along the way is to use such media within 12 months of manufacture. That might be a worthless pieces of advice for all I know.

From Glenferrie Cmptr Services Bob -

www.rimedia.com.au

I've been using G05s lately but still burning at 4x, but these are old favourites, so I'll give 'em a go - I'll post if any problems show up.

The companies that advertise G04 media here in the US are shipping G05. The TYG01 advertised is shipped as TYG02 and TYG03 instead. Good luck. Keep us posted.

When I went through my DVD testing a few weeks ago, and tested my G04s, they didn't test as well as my current 8x Taiyo Yuden (Manufacturer ID: TYG02).

I was totally happy with Ritek G04s and that was all I used (except for really critical "archival" work, where I still use a stash of Maxell 2x media). However, when they disappeared and I read all the great reports about Taiyo Yuden, I bought 50 and tried them out. They are simply flat out better, at least when burned on my Pioneer A09-XL. Like John, I suspect you'll find that these are G05s, which you won't like as well.

I must agree. I loved my Ritek G04s for a long time, but I don't see myself switching from my Taiyo Yudens any time soon.

Just received these discs, and DVD Identifier confirms that they are indeed G04s.

It doesn't say how old they are of course - but they LOOK new ; )

I'll report back if any problems with reliability.

Thanks,
might order some myself. Ever since I've been forced to use 8x from all brands things aren't as sweet as they used to be. My duplicator isn't as reliable as it used to be, amongst other things.
