New storyboard function in VP16 - workflow improvements

Video_flaneur wrote on 8/31/2018, 8:16 PM

The new storyboard function in VP16 seems to hold great promise for workflow improvements. In my own case, I can see that I will probably have less need to create subclips and subprojects in my workflow.

I would be interested to read how others feel this may significantly improve their workflow.

I agree, but have to admit I am struggling to get it to work properly. Better with "lightweight" media, but still seeing problems like timeline getting randomly messed up, in/out points ignored when dragging a storyboard to the timeline, and fairly frequently losing the hover scrub function.

What has your experience been like?

I am yet to use it - currently just thinking about the best way to use. However, I will start experimenting once other work allows, and will report back.

About the same as yours. As of now, it's a hassle rather then an improvement. I am also not sure if I would ever need it. The good think about Vegas is that you can easily move clips around on the timeline and new edit tolls like shuffle make it even easier.

I have now had time to have a proper play with this feature and I'm afraid it's not functioning stably enough for me to use it for anything at this stage. However, down the track with bugs fixed and functionality expanded it may become useful to me.

The big issues for me is that the in and out points can disappear and even clip sequence can change when transferring to main timeline.

Still, I can't get too upset since this new feature came as an unexpected bonus. The unexpected bonus of the tracker feature, however, is a real humdinger and adds significant value to the Vegas product for me.
