I am new to vegas and not sure how to work it all. I am curious as to how to get all of the channel in vegas le to record different tracks at once; i want to record a whole band at once. i have a soundblaster live platinum and a yamaha md8 multitracker. i was wondering if there is a cheap solution using the mixer of the md8, and the soundblaster and perhaps another sound card. i was considering a inca 88 used in conjunction with the other components. I also just ordered windows xp pro; any incompatabilityies?

I'm not familiar with the sound card you mentioned (not the SBL, but the other one). I use the Lexicon Core2 which allows me to record 4 channels at once, playback 8, or record 8 at once digitally.

Look at the Motu line, the Aardvark line, as well as others. These cards enable multitrack recording, but the more channels you record at once, the more expensive it will be.
