Just put up a new tutorial that explains how to make a somewhat more fancy menu using DVD-A, Vegas, Photoshop or similar graphic programs. The link is at the top right of below page. Enjoy. Comments, critiques welcome.
Thanks for that Bill. Looks like fun. I will have to try a few ideas.
I kind of liked Ulead DVD Movie Factory for menu building better than DVDA.
IT takes too long to do what should be simple things like sizing and arranging thumbnails, etc.
One thing I don't know how to avoid is having to resize all the Chapter points which come over as Markers from Vegas. The fonts are set to Auto size by default and DVDA makes all the little chapter titles different sizes when you create a submenu and explore it. It varies the sizes with the number of words. The more words you put in the marker title, the smaller it makes them.
Same thing with the thumbnails. If you choose 6 per page and you have say 14 thumbnails, the last page will have two giant thumbnails. Crazy.
I agree. I hope those annoying things get fixed in the next version. I think they were going more for an automated feature, but as it is now it needs work because more often then not when you're working with text and even set a value for font size its too easy for it to slip back into auto mode. Ditto for thumbnails shrinking the more you add. You should be able to set it and forget it with DVD-A remembering one page to the next till YOU change it.
I know some others have said select all and stuff like that but if you're a stickler to detail like me and I know you are, it doesn't work as advertisied resulting in a lot of extra manual work you shouldn't have to fiddle with.
